Now Playing:The Fourth Age - Treasure of the Silk Road
Description: The fourth narrative. Drawings and narrative are mine, music is by Jesper Kyde from Assassin's Creed.
The Silk Road is a metaphor for our journey to far flung places. This chapter was meant to reflect our ASU period and the temptation of fun.
The Silk Road was chosen not only because of the historical context but also because it represents the connection between distant empires in the spirit of technological and cultural exchange, which I thought was quite appropriate for ASU.
Historically intermarriage between Chinese and Persian nobility was quite common - apparently the explanation why Chinese have a higher incidence of thalassaemia than Koreans and Japanese even though genetically Far Easterners shouldn't have it very much.
