Description: There are calls for the government to help freelancers and contractors to get better access to finance. The Federation of Small Business (FSB) wants the new Chancellor George Osbourne to outline provisions to help smaller firms in the emergency budget. A spokeswoman for the organisation says economic recovery will be quicker if these businesses are able to get more credit so they can expand and take on more staff. The previous Labour government had put forward plans to bring in a Small Business Adjudicator that firms could appeal to if their banks were not making enough credit available.
